Town Paint By Numbers

This is the last paint by numbers personalized in my hand. I wanted to save the best for the last, but I regretted it as soon as I started the painting. The paint in this painting is too thin and it’s difficult to control the pen, so it’s not easy to draw the details.

Proarts paints are brighter, smoother, and thinner than those of the mathematics family. However, it lacks the “greasy” feeling of the original paint, and it is more difficult to pile up texture.

Let me record the painting method of flowers and plants. . . Not a professional method

1. The following blank places are the positions of flowers and plants to be drawn
2. First use dark green to randomly draw the dark area
3. While the previous color is not dry, use mid-green dots to paint the mid-tone. It doesn't matter if the colors are mixed, the effect is better.
4. Before the color is dry, use black to emphasize the dark and shadow areas again. Focus on the areas that were left blank before, and try to cover them as much as possible.
5. While the above colors are all dry, use light green to paint the bright areas, focusing on covering all the blank areas.
6. Use yellow-green (yellow if not) to reinforce the bright area. Use other colors to paint the flowers. There should be no blank areas at this time. If there is, you can fill it up with various greens.

After finishing the flower paint by numbers, put a paint box and look at the proportions. The flowers and plants are actually not very big. If you look a little farther, the effect is definitely not a problem.

Start painting the wall, then do some retouching of the highlights and shadows. Later details such as bricks, signboards, windows and potted plants were added.

Here is a trick. In many cases, painting directly with the paint from the manufacturer will have a grayish feeling. In professional language, it is because the number of gradations is small, not wide enough, the black is not black enough, the white is not white enough, and the colors are mid tones. So I suggest that you can boldly add black and white to enhance the contrast of the entire picture, making dark places darker and bright places brighter. Coupled with the gradual painting method, the shadows and highlights will become very natural.

After 2 months, the last town paint-by-number work was finally completed. To summarize briefly, the brick walls, fruit stand, balcony, floor, tables and chairs in the lower right corner of this painting are all complicated places. It is difficult to copy, and there are many shortcomings. The painting technique of flowers and plants and the technique of gradual transition are relatively mature, and the walls, awnings, table cloths and rattan chair backs are the highlights.
